About Ngā Kaihoe o te Pūaha

Ngā Kaihoe o Te Pūaha is a whaanau-based Waka Ama club on the banks of the Waikato River beside the Tuakau Bridge in Northern Waikato.

Our club was built on a love of Waka Ama, connection to the awa, and the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to get on the water and experience the benefits of paddling. Whether you're completely new to Waka Ama, looking to improve your fitness, wanting to compete, or simply seeking a supportive community to belong to, there is a place for you here.

We welcome paddlers of all ages and abilities and take pride in creating an environment where members feel supported, encouraged, and connected. Through training, racing, community events, and time spent together on and off the water, we build friendships, confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging.

Ngā Kaihoe o Te Pūaha participates in a range of regional, national, and community events throughout the year, providing opportunities for our members to challenge themselves, represent the club with pride, and celebrate the spirit of Waka Ama.

We value respect, teamwork, inclusiveness, and giving back to our community. Every member, volunteer, coach, manager, and supporter plays an important role in helping our club grow and thrive.

We invite you to come down to the river, meet our whaanau, and share in the journey with us.

Naa te awa taatou i whakakotahi, naa te waka taatou e kawe whakamua.
