Head coach Kiri Shaw says, "this is two more exciting opportunities for all selected players to be exposed to the environment at a challenging level. The games at these two tournaments will provide a great opportunity for team management to continue to develop and shape the game plan for these girls moving forward, whilst still using the games to gauge where the players are at. This will be four of our squad members first chance to play in front of us, we look forward to bringing them together in tournament play. We are also excited to bring a couple of DSX players into the fold after solid performances at the recent U18 Queensland State Champs. We were excited with what we saw from the DSX team, now it's an opportunity for these younger players to showcase their talents and look forward to seeing what they have to offer the group. The team that will be participating in the Bev Smith tournament is the team we took to Australia in July. We are interested to see how the players shape up after their down time after the tour and with their preparation for this up and coming season. That team exceeded our expectations in Australia, so consistency is key for them."

These tournaments will also mark a changing of the guard so to speak in our management team. The wonderful Judy Elder has given this group a huge amount of commitment and support during her time as manager with us. We wish to thank her for all her efforts and a job well done, thank you Judy!
Scott Easthope will be joining the team and taking over the manager role moving forward. We welcome Scott and are looking forward to his first opportunity to work with the group and meet the players and families during these next two NZ based tournaments.
