The Trustees of the Softball Foundation NZ Trust announce that applications for our next round of grants are now open, and will close at 5pm on Friday 13th December 2024.

The Foundation was established with the specific purpose of nurturing and developing the sport of girls and womens softball in New Zealand with a particular focus on those experiencing financial hardship. 

'He kai kei aku ringa mo kotiro rangatahi me nga wahine toa mo poiuka'

This whakatauki signifies resilience, empowerment and hope. It refers to one's ability to use the skills and resources they have to create success. It's about being responsible for the resources and capabilities to grow and develop.

The criteria for support centres around the need for financial assistance to remain a player or take advantage of higher honours. There is an expectation successful grant recipients will make a voluntary contribution back to the sport. International travel is not funded by the Foundation.
 

APPLICANT CRITERIA

• You are a current softball player participating in an organised softball compeititon
• You are a female aged 13-25.
• You need assistance to remain a player or take advantage of higher honours in softball
• You can demonstrate financial hardship
• You will contribute back to the sport
• You will be able to provide receipts for use of funding
• The application is not for international travel
