Give it a go!

Smallbore shooting is not restictive in terms of age, gender or athletic ability.  We do require that the shooter is of a size and ability to control and point the rifle safely.  So pretty much it is open to anyone willing to try something new or a new form of target sport.

The shooting is low impact and painless, nothing like the recoil portayed in films - This is ligh calibre or small bullet shooting so you shouldn't be intimitated. Our coaches are frienly, supportive and very good at leading you through a process.

We understand some will be new to shooting and unsure if it is a thing for them. We do not pressure people to carry on or join the club. However if you do persist and decide to carry on we will ask you to join.

What you need.

Pretty much just yourself, warm clothing and a positive outlook!  We have club gear for you to use for a small fee. You don't need a fire arms licence but we will need to closely supervise if you are not licenced.

Timing.

The club night starts at 7.00pm Wednesdays March thru October - it is a winter sport in an indoor range. Shooting is done in squads at approx 20min intervals. We typically finish around 9.00pm but there is no pressure to stay the duration.

Equipment.

We can provide all the equipment needed to shoot including:

• Target Rifle - .22 Target rifle with open sights - not scoped shooting - yes we have left handed rifles and bullets :)
• Ammunition - .22 calibre rounds
  
• As you advance we can provide shooting jackets, slings and spotting scopes.
• Targets
  
• Hearing protection
• Coaching by arrangement with some very good shooters with people skills!
  
• Tea and coffee

Cost.

To cover our costs, gear, ammunition and time each session is $20 for 1 full target (13 Shots). If you are keen then it is an additional $5 for each full target shot

Event options.

We, by arrangement and enough lead time can organise events for up to 20 people. We often host organisations such as Scouts, Venturers, Schools and other clubs. This is subject to coach availability and fitting in with Club and wider competitions.
