Each year ACG Sunderland holds its annual Athletics Day every February at Douglas Track and Field. Students who have demonstrated they can meet the selection times and distances are eligible to represent ACG Sunderland at further athletics meets such as College Sport Auckland Championships as well as the North Island Secondary School Championships and the New Zealand Championships.
Year 7&8 athletics zones are held as a separate event in Term 4.

17 March Championships Day 1 Mount Smart Stadium.
19 March Championships Day 2 Mount Smart Stadium.
