Introduction

Skiing has a proud place within the sporting programme at Auckland Grammar School, providing students with the opportunity to pursue excellence in one of New Zealand’s most challenging and rewarding sports.

Auckland Grammar School offers skiers the opportunity to join a competitive team that trains and races during Term Three. The Ski Team trains over several weekends in preparation for competition, culminating in the North Island Secondary Schools Skiing Championships on Mt Ruapehu.

The School has a proud record of achievement in secondary school skiing. In 2013, Auckland Grammar School became the first public school since 1990 to win the North Island Secondary Schools Skiing Championship — an achievement that reflected the skill, commitment and determination of its skiers.

The team also competes in the Auckland Secondary Schools Skiing Championships, with the event held at Snowplanet in June.
