Junior's @ the 'Hay Paddock' (South Hagley)

Tee-ball and Little League are played at the "Hay Paddock" or South Hagley.  All tamariki/children must be of age as of 31 December e.g. if you are 6 at 31 December you are U7, if you turn 7 before 31 December you are U9.

Tamariki/children aged 3-5 years should be able to be on the diamond without mum or dad for large portions of the game. This is to give all the other tamariki/children playing the opportunity to play without running into an adult. It also gives the coach the opportunity of guiding our newest players.

IMPORTANT TIME CHANGES

Little League - Divison 1 = U11 Division 2 = U13

U11 Div 1 Girls & Boys teams - 9.30a.m. - 10.30a.m.
This is for girls and boys aged 9-10 yrs and is the start of live pitching.  The U11 teams start the first half of the season with a UPM pitching machine. This delivers a more consistent ball for the batters to hit.  Remember, last season they hit off a tee.
The 2nd half of the season sees the introduction of a pitcher pitching to a batter.

U13 Div 2 Girls & Boys teams - 9.30a.m. - 10.30a.m.
This is for girls and boys aged 10-12 yrs and is played on a full sized diamond. Our tamariki are beginning to develop some great softball skills and techniques.

Tee-ball grades * Nursery = 3-5yrs * Mixed Tee-ball = U7s * Tee-ball Girls/Boys = U9s

U7 Nursery Tee-ball 11.00a.m. - 12.00 noon

Tee-ball starts at the Nursery age grade 3-5 yr olds.  This is pure fun, with some throwing, catching, batting and running.  It is a 6-a-side team and players rotate each innings. Everyone gets to bat and field.

U7 Mixed Tee-ball 11.00a.m. - 12.00 noon
This grade has progressed from nursery level.  It is still new entrant level tee-ball, the tamariki/kids are generally aged 5-6.  They can be mixed, all boys or all girls. This is 9-a-side tee-ball.

U9 Girls / Boys 11.00a.m. - 12.00 noon
This grade is for tamariki/kids aged 7-8 yrs. They are now learning more softball skills, batting and throwing techniques and softball plays.

All games should be played with great spirit and fair play.  There is a zero tolerance for violence or abuse, and bad language from coaches, parents, supporters and spectators will not be tolerated.  We encourage participation from all tamariki/children, and cater for all abilities.
