Changes and Information for 2024

The Central Otago Community competition has a number of changes for 2024 which we have summarised below. For full details and explanations of the changes please review the PDF below.

Internal Football - U6 and U7 and U8

U6 and U7

All U6 and U7 players will now play an internal format in conjunction with Cromwell FC. Alexandra players will still train once a week and on Sundays will either play an internal club format or have an inter-club against Cromwell.

Under 8 - Option

U8s from Alexandra will have the option to either join the Internal Football described above or can play in the u9 grade in the Central Otago Commuity League. If playing internal it will either be U8's or combined U7/8 depending on registrations.

Community Football - U9 - U17

U9 - U12 (Community Hub)

Players in the U9 - U12 grades will be in the standard Sunday gameday format that existing players will be familiar with. All teams travel to the same town on a Sunday and play.

U13/14

Existing players in this grade will be familiar with the combined age grade, this follows on from the combined U12/13 grade in 2023. We anticipate it will be necessary again for 2024. The difference for this grade is that they will now play in a home and away format on a Sunday outside of the Commmunity Hub described above. Where pitch space allows and it makes sense, the draw may allow for participation in the Community Hub, this cannot be guranteed.

U15-U17

With U14's now in a seperate grade it is anticipated that U15-U17 will likely be a combined grade. This largely been the case in Alexandra in any case. If the numbers accross the clubs allow we may still be able to have a seperate U15 and U17 grade. These teams play on a Saturday morning in a home and away format.
