Denise is an experienced Director having been on not-for-profit boards for a number of years, most recently stepping down as Chair of Drowning Prevention Auckland.
In her role as a senior lecturer at AUT University in the School of Sport & Recreation she is an enthusiastic participant who manages to both work and play in this sector.
As a Trustee on the Atkive Board, Denise upholds a regional perspective - lifting participation in physical activity and enhancing wellbeing - across all of Auckland.
Ollie Bryce is a coach with a number of national age-group titles, international experience as the New Zealand U20 Mens coach and coached the Cook Islands Women at the 2019 Pacific Games.
He also has had stints in the US university system in Maine and Arizona.
Ollie sits on the board for Waitakere-West Auckland Basketball (WWABI) where his background in youth work and coaching experiences provide a global perspective of basketball for the wider community.
Jon is a committed basketball fan, having played through school and then socially after work. He loves the accessibility of the game and is keen to connect more communities to basketball and help them see the many benefits it brings.
For work, Jon is GM of Merchandise for a national business product sourcing and distribution company.
He has a teenage family and a very tolerant wife. Jon's other sporting passion is ocean swimming and can often be found in the sea (in the summer months only).
Rachel Southee is a chartered accountant working in Auckland for New Zealand’s largest pulp and paper manufacturer and is backed by a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and Bachelor of Business Studies (Accountancy). She has held various governance roles in the NFP sector including leading finance sub-committees and is a Member of the Institute of Directors.
Rachel has a strong interest and background in sport where she represented New Zealand in road cycling on several occasions. Rachel deeply supports initiatives to grow participation so that everyone can experience the benefits, opportunities and transferrable skills that sport and recreation offers.
William's basketball journey began in his grandma's backyard, sparking a lifelong passion for the sport that fuels his commitment to Auckland Basketball Services Ltd.
With a diverse career ranging from senior executive to board governance roles in financial services, SMEs, consulting, and renewable energy, William brings a unique perspective to the boardroom. He is a member of the Institute of Directors, thriving in collaborative environments, and is known for his reliability and perceptive advisory skills. William's academic background includes a Bachelor of Social Science (Economics) from the University of Waikato, providing him with a distinctive advantage to assume versatile roles and make significant contributions to communities and NFPs.
Tash Bartlett comes from a banking and finance background having completed a BA/BCom at Auckland University. She has held senior roles at Carter Holt Harvey and within the banking industry, both in NZ and Australia. After having her children, she trained as a Personal Trainer and ran two businesses, personal training and a children’s fitness business. In more recent times she has held finance, strategy and events management roles. This varied background provides her with a wide knowledge of business principles, processes and experiences that will add value in her role with ABSL.
Tash is currently Board Chair at Tennis Northern Region and President at Campbells Bay Tennis Club, and when she is not spending time with her family and friends, you can find her on the tennis court.
