Belisha has a repertoire of many hours of dance, choreographed & more 'freestyle'. Check out the 'tabs' here for a sample - some video clips too in the gallery! See the 'prompt notes' page for some of the written notes to some of Belisha's regular dances. These are offered for reinforcement of knowledge learnt on sessions, not replace regular practice! If you are a non-member & find them interesting, join up, come along to sessions & learn!
Any members is welcome to offer Belisha a choreography (or more) to expand the collection - if you have one you are willing to share, please tell us! If you have video, send a link to it. The more the merrier.
Belisha has a unique resource in our written choreographies - hours of dance to pattern your body into the ME belly dance style! The choreographies in the 'basic' section are the ones to dance to familiarise your body with moves such as b8s, Mayas, under 8 s, shimmies, undulations, turns & transitions.
There are many more 'advanced' choreographies available - ask Troupe leader (currently Abijii).
It makes sense to learn the dances on session & to use the written word as a support - so that you are performing the moves in a safe & aesthetically pleasing manner. If you are dancing in another group as well, get them to join Belisha too & learn together - get extra dance sessions flowing! (KD take note).
These choreographies are shared on the clear understanding that they are a valuable resource for the Belisha - if you are a non Belisha member learning them; joining up is easy and NOT EXPENSIVE! If you want to teach a friend (or others) join them up & practice together.
Would you share your choreography with other Belisha members?
Belisha currently has many hours of shared dance resource - with thanks to all those who choreograph and are willing to share their art with other members. If you have a piece you have choreographed and are willing to offer as a shared resource, that would be brilliant! Contact Secretary or Troupe Leader via email so that Belisha can continue to create a register of choreography.
