Substitutes

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​A substitute can be appointed if a team member becomes unable to play at any time for any reason.​​​​​​​

Bowls NZ Domestic Regulation 1.1, 1.2 and 1.4:

The original team comprises the players who are members of the team when the jack is delivered in the first end of the first game (section play) played by that team in a competition or pathways event (Champion of Champions).

A substitute may be permitted into a team at any stage during a game or throughout a competition provided that always there is/are in:

   Pairs - One original team member;

   Triples - Two original team members;

   Fours – Two original team members

Substitutes are not permitted for Singles events.

All events are subject to 
Bowls NZ Domestic Regulation 2.4:

The player(s) put forward for consideration must be of equal or ​​​​​​​ lesser ability and record than the Team Member concerned.

​​​​​​​The substitute must play in any position other than skip

To enable the tournament committee to make a fair decision for “substitute requests” this form
is to be completed by the club match committee.

Substitutes required at very short notice will require a call to the Tournament Manager.

 Final decisions will be based on information submitted and any other relevant facts that are
available to the committee.

When submitted, your request will automatically be emailed to the Tournament Committee.
