The Centre tournaments for our 10 year and under players were held at Levin Bowling Cub last weekend.

Ten women's teams were competing for the Carrell Knight Trophy. After 6 qualifying rounds, the top 4 teams played off. In the semi finals Waitarere Black defeated Levin Green while Levin White defeated Paekakariki by a very close margin, 13-12.

In another closely fought game Levin's Mary van der Velden, Chloe Eastham and Karen Muir were the overall winners defeating Waitarere's composite team of Jenny Rose, Karen Hutton and Angie Rooker.

The Bill Gibbons Trophy was contested by 16 men's teams. The semi finals saw Paekakariki Black defeating Raumati Blue, and Raumati Navy defeating Levin White. In the final Paekakariki team of Dylan Thomas, Elijah Minnell and Spike Thomas went on to win against Raumati's Mike Hunter, Allen Hutchison and Laurie Flynn.

The many spectators who turned out were treated to some impressive bowls over the 2 days. Congratulations to all the finalists and well done all!
