Draws
Draws are designed based on your chosen parameters. You set the parameters based on variables such as start & finish, match duration, participation vs championship playoffs, rest-time and lunch-breaks.
As an example, the Franklin Primary Schools Zone successfully uses these parameters:
- Keep the students busy, so that they play every second round. If byes are required due to the odd number of teams in the pool, then teams should have no more than 1 bye.
- If teams have no byes, then a lunch-break bye can be used for all teams in the pool.
- Match duration is 15 minutes. No half-times, and no gaps between the rounds.
- Maximum participation is encouraged, so venue capacity is stretched to the limit.
- Half the teams play in the ODD rounds and the other half play in the EVEN rounds.
- First round of matches start at 9:45am and last round finishes at 2pm.
- Overall winners are required for the Boys & Girls A Grades and Mixed Grade. Depending on entries, this may require 2 pools, with a final round of playoffs to decide the final placings.
- All teams to have approximately the same amount of matches irrespective of the size of their grade, even if it requires some grades to repeat rounds.
