Welcome

A huge welcome to new members and it is great to see returning players again. Here’s a bit of information about the Business House Netball Club and what you can expect this season. The club was formed in 1977 and is one of the largest and oldest netball clubs on the Kapiti Coast. We compete in the Netball Kapiti Competition and offer a range of teams playing across many different grades. This allows players to find and play at their own level of netball, ranging from social to premiere. Training is on a Wednesday night (7pm – 9pm) and competition games are played on a Saturday (between 9am – 2pm) at the Te Atiawa Netball Courts, Percival Road, Paraparaumu Beach.

Committee details

Each season the club votes to fill six positions on the Committee at the AGM. The Committee comprises a President, Administrator, Treasurer, and three delegates. The Committee meets once per month during the netball season and several times before and after the season. Each team is encouraged to nominate a representative to attend Committee meetings. If you are interested in finding out more or if you want to put your name forward for the Committee please contact the Club President, Kimberley Rayner prior to the AGM on, Wednesday 16th March.

Subs: How much and where does the money go?

2017 - $145

2018 - $145

2019 - $145

2020 - $145

2021 - $145

2022 - $145

2023 - $145

2024 - $145

There are several fixed costs to the club each season which subs are used to pay for. These include registration into the Netball Kapiti competition, court hire, and lighting for training. We also provide playing, training, and fitness equipment.

How and when do I need to pay?

The full payment of subs will be due by a date yet to be determined by the Committee.  You are welcome to arrange an automatic payment and make regular payments so your subs are paid off by the due date. If you would like to do this, you should discuss this arrangement with the Treasurer. We accept cheque, cash, and internet banking payments. If subs aren't paid by the due dates, you will not be able to take the court in the Saturday competition until they are settled.

Subs can be paid into the Business House Netball Club Bank Account: 02 0733 0070962 000 (Player name to be used as the reference).

Uniforms

The cost to hire a uniform will be $110.00 for the top and skirt. At the end of the season, on return of your uniform, you will be refunded $100.00 and the club will retain $10.00 for dry cleaning.

The uniform bond is to ensure our uniforms are protected for seasons to come and needs to be the cost of a replacement if anything should happen to it or it becomes lost.

Payment for uniforms will also be due by a date to be determined by the Committee. Failure to pay in full by this date will mean you cannot take the court.

We understand that there are a lot of payments due early in the season.  Please contact our treasurer if you would like to pay by automatic payment. Our aim is to support as many women as possible to play netball.

In the event of it actually feeling like winter, you are able to wear long-sleeved, navy blue thermals under your uniform top.

Weather

Competition games will go ahead no matter what the weather is doing. Coaches will have the final say on whether training goes ahead on a Wednesday night in inclement weather.

Fundraising

Like every other sports group, we need to carry out fundraising activities just to keep things ticking over each year. The alternative is to increase the cost of fees. How much fundraising we undertake will be determined by a club vote at the AGM. We propose selling Entertainment Books again, with the majority of the profit being deducted from the seller's subs. The more you sell, the less you pay. Sweet!

What if something happens and I need to pull out partway through the season?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a full refund. As you would have seen under the “subs” section, we have fixed costs that need to be met.

Umpiring Duties

Each Saturday, every team in the Netball Kapiti competition is required to provide two people to umpire a lower-graded game immediately after their own game. Each team is responsible for deciding who will do this – it is not optional! As a club, we arrange for a teaching session on umpiring. You will also be required to complete an umpires test following the teaching session.

Prize Giving

End of Season Prize giving will be held at the end of the Winter Netball Season.
