Celtic cricket started from the old Celtic Rugby Football Club with some of its members wanting to play a sport over summer to help keep them fit for rugby in the winter, and what better way than to start a cricket team.

For the next decade and a bit the club was a one team club, winning the 4th grade and being promoted to the 3rd grade and eventually going on to win the 3rd grade a number of times.

In 1999 the club expanded to having 2 teams, a 3rd grade and a 4th grade, making a large number of semi finals and winning 3rd grade twice since.

The club still has 2 teams, but with plans to expand in the future.

Two seasons ago we where invited to play in the HBCA senior grade, we took up this invitation and had a 2 seasons of good success.

Last season our playing numbers grew to the point that fielding a third team became inevitable, so after much discussion we made the leap to field 3 teams in the Senior, 3rd and 4th grade.

We train at St Johns College on Tuesdays and Thursday from 5pm, with trainings starting the first Tuesday after the beginning of daylight saving.

If you are keen to play cricket in a competitive and fun environment then please get in contact with the club secretary for details on how to join.
