Lotto Central Federation League – Round 7
Thirsty Whale Napier City Rovers hold onto top spot in the league but did go down 3-1 on the weekend when they travelled to take on Watson Integrity PN Marist FC with Mason Charlton bagging a double in the match for the home side. Marist are now equal with Rovers on 10 points but sit in second on goal difference. Shani’s Taradale AFC are up in third and one point behind the leaders after they won a seven goal thriller 4-3 when they hosted ALH Limited Gisborne Thistle. Harry Lack netted a brace for Taradale including the 91st minute winning penalty with Jimmy Somerton scoring a hat trick for Thistle to now lead the Golden Boot race on 8 strikes so far this season. Bayleys Palmerton North United had the Bye for Round 7.
Women’s Federation Cup – Round 1
We had two Women’s Federation Cup Round 1 matches played on the weekend which was a week earlier due to two of these teams being involved in the Kate Sheppard Cup this coming weekend and that taking precedence. ATLAS NP Rangers AFC Women’s Feds took on Havelock North Wanderers Women’s Feds at the neutral venue of Skoglund Park in Manawatu and both sides couldn’t be separated after 120 minutes when it ended 3-3. Maddison Hughes looked to of won the game for Wanderers after she completed her hat trick in the 89th minute but Lizzie Ingham sent the game to extra time when she scored for Rangers in the 99th minute. With the deadlock remaining at the conclusion of extra time the teams headed into a penalty shootout which Rangers won 4-2 to book their place in Quarter Finals. In the other game Excel Refrigeration Moturoa AFC won 3-1 when they were hosted by Kitchens by Healey Palmerston North United at Massey University. Moturoa took a 1-0 lead into half time before pushing the lead to 3-0 in the second half before United got a late consolation goal from the penalty spot in the 77th minute.
Taranaki Women’s Premiership – Round 8
HEL Rimu NP Rangers Development have moved back to the summit after they got a hard fought 2-0 home win against Hipp Accounting Ltd Hawera FC with Tiaan Neatherway netting both goals for Rangers. Gravity Sign & Design Studio Inglewood AFC Women are now in second as they won 17-0 when hosting Worley Woodleigh FC with Erin Boyde, Katelyn Stewart and Nardia Higgison all scoring triples plus Jess Fairclough and Carla Kennedy bagging braces. Five goals from Kirsten Keighley plus doubles from Grace Soffe and Sharnele Murray got Offshore Plumbing Services Waitara SC the 11-0 home win over Eltham AFC Ladies Premiership. Two goals from Olivia Bright helped Tungsten Legal Stratford AFC defeat Kaitake FC 3-0, in the final game Equipfix Peringa United Ladies knocked over Withers Coachlines Moturoa AFC Women 2-1 to drop Moturoa down to third on the table with NPGHS having the Bye and sitting in fourth.
Yorb Taranaki Men’s Premiership – Round 7
NZ Forestry Peringa United Premiers secured the Challenge Trophy and remain on top of the league as they won 4-1 away at Rampage Fitness FC Western with all the goals being shared around. Peggy Gordon’s NP Rangers AFC hold onto second place with their 3-0 home win against Premier Heating NPBHS 1st XI with their goals also being shared around. In the final game TMT Building Ltd Moturoa AFC moved back up into third when they won 4-0 at home over Hawera Kitchens Hawera FC with Connor Hay knocking in two goals.
Taranaki Men’s Championship – Round 8
Inglewood AFC Championship won a 10 goal thriller away at Cunningham Construction Kaitake FC 6-4, Joel Stewart and Hamish Carruthers scored twice for Inglewood with James Bevington netting a triple for Kaitake. Carruthers leads the Golden Boot race on 13 strikes from Bevington in second on 10. Western Autos Moturoa AFC secured a 4-1 win when hosting Novotel Woodleigh FC and in the other game played Trafficr NP Rangers AFC won 5-2 away at Peringa United Championship with Aman Pawar netting twice for Rangers and Ryan Hall netting twice for Peringa. Mark Frost Electrical Hawera FC defaulted to Millwards Roofing FC Western and Cross Country Rentals NPBHS 2nd XI had the Bye.
Taranaki Men’s Division 1 – Round 8
CG Office Furniture FC Western Flaming Wolverines won the 1st vs 3rd on the table match 5-1 away at Wonder Minerals Kaponga SC thanks to a brace from Adam Groen who continues to lead the Golden Boot race by four goals with 10 for the season so far. Smart Rehab & Physio Peringa United Ballers stay in second on the ladder as they won a close match 4-3 against Taranaki Thru Tubing NP Rangers AFC with the only multiple scorer being Luke Snellgrove for Rangers who got a double. Last years Champions Shining Peak NP Rangers AFC Oddbodz keep moving up the table and are now in third as they won 6-0 away to Moturoa AFC Div1, John Hight netting twice. In the final match KP Joinery Waitara SC won 2-1 when hosting Elca Stainless Inglewood AFC and Smith & Sons Eltham AFC had the Bye.
Taranaki Men’s Division 2 – Round 8
Pipeline Peringa United hung onto the Challenge Trophy and top spot in the league after they won 3-2 over Marty Suchy Harcourts FC Western thanks to a late winner from Mostafa Mohebi. Webber Building Kaitake FC HB’s got the 2-0 home win against McDonald Real Estate Stratford AFC and in the other game Withers Coachlines FDMC Senior Team won 2-1 away to Egmont Texturers NP Rangers AFC thanks to a late winner from Toby Stephens.
Taranaki Men’s Division 3 – Round 8
Paul Hamlin Builders Eltham AFC handed Rob Mason Electrical Group Woodleigh FC their first loss of the season 3-2 thanks to a hat trick from Ezekiel Oliver. Inglewood AFC Div3 had the opportunity to go top but couldn’t break the 0-0 stalemate when they hosted Stratford AFC Reserves. Peringa United Socials in third did manage to close the gap to the top as they won 2-1 over Waitara SC Div3 and in the final game Moturoa AFC Div3 got the 3-1 home win against Orchard Contracting Ltd Hawera FC.
