JUNIOR/YOUTH FOOTBALL WEEK 4

A Festival of Football in Friendly Feilding with all the club’s teams playing at Timona park on Saturday, Check out some of the action below.

 

 

 

 

 

Lotto Central Federation League – Round 7

Thirsty Whale Napier City Rovers hold onto top spot in the league but did go down 3-1 on the weekend when they travelled to take on Watson Integrity PN Marist FC with Mason Charlton bagging a double in the match for the home side. Marist are now equal with Rovers on 10 points but sit in second on goal difference. Shani’s Taradale AFC are up in third and one point behind the leaders after they won a seven goal thriller 4-3 when they hosted ALH Limited Gisborne Thistle. Harry Lack netted a brace for Taradale including the 91st minute winning penalty with Jimmy Somerton scoring a hat trick for Thistle to now lead the Golden Boot race on 8 strikes so far this season. Bayleys Palmerton North United had the Bye for Round 7. 

 

Women’s Federation Cup – Round 1

We had two Women’s Federation Cup Round 1 matches played on the weekend which was a week earlier due to two of these teams being involved in the Kate Sheppard Cup this coming weekend and that taking precedence. ATLAS NP Rangers AFC Women’s Feds took on Havelock North Wanderers Women’s Feds at the neutral venue of Skoglund Park in Manawatu and both sides couldn’t be separated after 120 minutes when it ended 3-3. Maddison Hughes looked to of won the game for Wanderers after she completed her hat trick in the 89th minute but Lizzie Ingham sent the game to extra time when she scored for Rangers in the 99th minute. With the deadlock remaining at the conclusion of extra time the teams headed into a penalty shootout which Rangers won 4-2 to book their place in Quarter Finals. In the other game Excel Refrigeration Moturoa AFC won 3-1 when they were hosted by Kitchens by Healey Palmerston North United at Massey University. Moturoa took a 1-0 lead into half time before pushing the lead to 3-0 in the second half before United got a late consolation goal from the penalty spot in the 77th minute. 

 

YORB HORIZONS PREMIERSHIP: 

On Friday night at Arena PNBHS 1ST XI welcomed Wanganui City 1sts. The students took a 1-0 lead into the half time break thanks to a well taken 17th minute goal from Aiden Foster. A second half Darren Juru brace extending the lead for Boys High as they held off a determined city side to claim a comfortable 3-0 victory on the night.  

Team Lewis Innovation Feilding AFC and Levin AFC went to battle at Timona Park. In what was a good old fashion arm wrestle it was a 60th minute Michael Whitmore goal that would prove to be the difference as the home side claimed a hard earned 1-0 win. 

At Skoglund Park it was Youm Marist Reserves up against Longchill Takaro Jokers. Despite their best efforts neither side could break the deadlock in the opening half and went into the break all locked up at 0-0. Mark Manson opened the scoring in the 57th minute to give Takaro the lead before Cain Brown was able to double the lead soon after. Although Marist threw all they had at Takaro they were unable to reduce the deficit and Takaro held on to claim a well-deserved 2-0 win.  

At Wembley Park it was GJ Gardner Homes Whanganui Athletic Reserves hosting league leaders Advance Electrical Palmerston North United. Josh Shannon gave United the in the 17th minute Before Tre DeJohn equalised for Athletic in the 32nd Minute. The sides exchanged blows and were unable to be split until a 78th minute goal from Bayshi Oo for United put them back in front and they were able to hold on and claim a very important 2-1 victory on the road.  

Game the round (9): 

Friday night under the lights at Arena Manawatu. Longchill Takaro Jokers take on PNBHS 1st XI in what is sure to be a cracking game. Both sides will be wanting maximum points from this match as they look to chase down the league leaders. 

HORIZONS CHAMPIONSHIP: 

At Timona Park Team Campbell - Harcourts Feilding Reserves took on Levin Reserves. Feilding picking up their first win of the season with a comprehensive 4-1 victory at home. Goal Scorers for Feilding were Nicholas Hanly (2), Sulaiman Kigozi, and Robert Marsh. Levin’s Goal was scored by Jay Wehipeihana. 

At Skoglund Park Isles Construction Marist Inter continued their winning ways as they accounted for the Chillmax Takaro Titans with a comfortable 4-1 win thanks to goals from Charles Parker (2), Vahai Mafoa, and Tim Seaholme. Takaro’s Goal Scorer was Ramazan Ali.  

At Ashhurst Linton FC continued their resurgence as they came away 4-2 winners over league leaders Palmerston North United Development. Linton took an Early lead thanks to a Thomas Kelly brace before United responded with goals from Najibullah Qudsi and Ashraf Muhammad-Ali. The match was delicately poised until the 87th minute when Patrick Brown put Linton in front and minutes later Charles Royle added another to seal the win.  

Game the round (9): 

Palmerston North United Development Host Isles Construction Marist Inter in a top of the table clash. PNU took out the first-round battle of the sides and Inter will be out for revenge here in the return fixture.  

MANAWATU DIVISION 1: 

Levin AFC Colts welcomed Red Sox Wrinklies to Donnelly Park where the sides played out a thrilling 3-3 draw. Lachlan Trask gave Levin the lead in the 51st Minute before the wrinklies scored Three quick goals through Kurtis Edwards, Adam Rose, and Andrew Roydhouse. Levin however were not done and with late goals from Lachlan Trask and Nathan Stout they were able secure a well-deserved point.  

At Celaeno Park a 4-goal blitz in the opening 35 minutes proved to be the difference as the Massey University Good Guys were deserving 4-0 winners against the Freedom Plus Marist Bulldogs. Scorers for Massey were Liam Wells (2), Sam Christophers, and Connor Tunnicliffe. 

At Skoglund Park North End Old Boys took on Takaro Jhapa United. The old boys were able to continue their good form in this match as they ran out 7-2 winners against a determined Jhapa side. Scorers for North End Cam Dearlove (2), Jordan Te Kooro (2), James Kelly (2), and Matt Wallace. Takaro’s Goals coming through Isaiah Birch, and Ramesh Chhetri. A special mention to Ricki Le Mar-Walker who had an impressive game in goal for Takaro making several top class saves.  

Also, at Skoglund Park the Smartphone Repairs Marist Celts took on the Chillmax Takaro Rebels. This match was all locked up until the 63rd minute when it sprung into action. Three goals in five minutes for the celts through an Own Goal, Taufilo Taufilo, and Bailey Wynd. Takaro reduced the deficit thanks to Josh Draper in the 75th minute before Javed Khan again extended the lead for the Celts. Josh Draper then netted another in the 87th minute before Andrew Grubb also netted as the Rebels came within a goal. However, that was as close as they were to get as time eventually ran out and the celts held on for a thrilling 4-3 Win. 

Game the round (9): 

Massey University Good Guys take on Smartphone Repairs Marist Celts. Both sides are coming off good wins and with only one point separating them on the table this is sure to be a great match. 

MANAWATU DIVISION 2: 

At Timona Park McDonalds Feilding Development took on the Massey University Rigs. It was the home side who came out on top 6-0 here in this match thanks to goals from Lachie Dale (2), Jarlath Witbooi, Jamie Mills, Benjamin Howe, and Alexander Russell. 

Goals either side of half time from Liam Outtrim and Zac Beechey-Gradwell was enough to give the N&R Builders Marist Park Rangers a hard earned 2-0 win against The Mad Butcher Takaro Fury. 

At the Showgrounds in Dannevirke the Red Sox Saints continued their winning ways with a comfortable 7-1 victory over the Dannevirke Rangers. Goals for Red Sox scored by Elijah Houlahan (3), David De Jonge (2), and Charlos Wakur (2). Dannevirke’s scorer Khern Shingleton. 

Game the round (9): 

Red Sox Saints welcome Levin Sports to Celaeno Park. Red Sox are unbeaten so far this season, can 4th place Levin be the first side to take points from the leaders?  

MANAWATU DIVISION 3: 

JRM Automotive Marist Royals welcomed Chillmax Takaro Glory to the Ashhurst Domain. It was the Marist side who came out victors in this match by a margin of 7-2. Scorers for the Royals Ely Malyo (2), Isaiah Salawalak (2), Cristian Tot, Haruki Okamoto, and Richard Nielsen. Takaro’s goals coming through a William Chaffe brace.  

At Timona Park a Gary Jones goal in the 30th minute was enough to give Groombridge Electrical Feilding C Team a 1-0 victory against Takaro Bua United. 

At Donnelly Park Levin Socials welcomed the Red Sox Hustlers. Shannon Mickleburgh put the Hustlers in front in the 14th minute before Andrew Yan equalised for Levin in the 31st minute. A second half David Burrows Hattrick ultimately proving to be the difference between the sides as the Hustlers claimed a deserved 4-1 win on the road.  

At Celaeno Park Drillco North End Socials took on Woodville AFC 1sts. North end edging out their visitors 3-2 In a thrilling and hard-fought match. Callum Waller with a Hattrick of goals for North End Whilst Josh Ware netted both goals for Woodville.  

Game the round (9): 

Takaro Bua United take on Drillco North End Social. The sides are only separated by one competition point. If previous results are anything to go by this match promises to be a close one.  

MANAWATU MASTERS DIVISION: 

At Skoglund Park the Red Sox Legends welcomed Levin AFC Vets. A 60th minute Jason Smith Goal proving the difference as the visitors claimed a 1-0 victory on the road as they continue to surge up the competition table.  

 

 

At Timona Park Jennian Homes Feilding United masters took on Resonant Marist Masters. Duane Butts giving Feilding a 1-0 half time lead with his 19th minute opener. Kameron Greenlees doubled the lead in the 47th minute. Shane Mcewen reduced the deficit for Marist with a 65th minute strike before Correy Kotuhi again stretched the lead for the hosts in the 74th minute. Richard Marshall reduced the deficit again with a 78th minute goal for Marist to set up a thrilling finish. However, Feilding would manage to hold on and take a 3-2 victory in what was an exciting match. 

On Sunday at Arena Manawatu the MKM Marist Shamrock Rovers took on the Red Sox Old Boys.  Michael Johnson giving Shamrock Rovers the lead with a 36th minute strike. Glen Voysey would equalise for the Old Boys in the 80th minute and from there on the sides could not be split and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.   

Game the round (9): 

Levin AFC Vets host Jennian Homes Feilding United masters at Donnelly Park. These sides always seem to produce thrilling matches and this one is sure to be another top of the table cracker.  

TEAM ROBINSON MANAWATU WOMEN’S 

Gree Marist Evergreenz and Tranzit Marist Mysteries played out a cracking club derby match at Hokowhitu Park. Mysteries went into the break leading thanks to a 3rd minute Anna Sturm goal. Evergreenz came out firing in the second half and scored Three unanswered goals through Jane Archer (2), and Christine Cole to claim a 3-1 victory over their club counterparts.  

Also, at Hokowhitu Park Isles Construction Marist Development took on the Takaro Harlequins. Marist coming out on top 10-1 in this match. Marist Goals coming from Amber Mahoney (4), Lily Rodgers (3), Christina Trewhitt, Aimee Ford, and Isabella Yarwood. Whilst Jessica Nell netted for Takaro.  

At Timona Park Rosco’s Bulk Yard Feilding Women hosted Levin Women. The sides were all locked up with a goal apiece until the 85th minute when the visitors scored 2 late goals to claim a hard fought 3-1 win on the road. Levin’s scorers were Emma Overall, Kirsty Kiri, and Lisa Fletcher. Feilding’s scorer unknown.  

At Skoglund Park LJ Contracting Takaro Avengers hosted Massey University Reserves. Andie Clothier opening the scoring in the 11th minute as Massey took a 1-0 lead into the break. Tania Parata was having some game in goal for the Avengers, it took two very well taken goals from Leah Dixon and Amy Wells to eventually seal a 3-0 victory for Massey against a very tough Avengers side.  

Also, at Skoglund Park was the clash between the top sides Chapple Architecture PN Marist Mayhem and Chillmax Takaro X-Force. Mayhem made a great start with goals in the 5th and 9th minute through Brooke Argyle and Alevya Skerrett. Takaro responded in the 20th minute thanks to Kowhai Eynon-Hudson. Skerrett then added her 2nd just before halftime to give Mayhem a 3-1 lead at the break.  Both sides had their chances in the second half, but neither were able to add to their tally and the Mayhem held off a spirited X-Force to claim a well-deserved 3-1 win. 

Game of the round (8): 

Massey university Reserves host Chapple Architecture PN Marist Mayhem. 1v4 on the table and this is sure to be a great match between two very good sides.
