Benjamin Stanley opened the scoring in the 14th minute before Aston Hurd doubled the advantage shortly after the break in the 49th minute. Luca Barclay added a third in the 55th minute to put the result beyond doubt, with Stanley rounding off an impressive display by grabbing another goal late in the match. The comprehensive win continues Rovers' excellent form and sees them progress confidently into the quarter-finals.

The hosts carried that momentum into the second half, where Laura Smith doubled the lead three minutes after the restart to put Moturoa in a commanding position. 

However, New Plymouth Rangers refused to go away. Bailee Dale Egan-Gray sparked the comeback with a goal in the 69th minute before Gracey Edgcombe levelled the scores in the 83rd minute, completing a spirited fightback and ensuring the derby honours were shared. 

After a fast start from Moturoa and a determined late response from Rangers, neither side could find a winner as the points were split in an entertaining contest.
