Coach Code of Behaviour

As a coach in any netball or netball related activity held by or under the auspices of Netball New Zealand, Netball South and Central Otago Netball Centre, we encourage you to meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during any such activity or event:

• Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every human being.

Ensure the player’s time spent with you is a positive experience.

Treat each player as an individual.

•  Be fair, considerate and honest with players.

Be professional and accept responsibility for your actions.

Make a commitment to providing a quality service to your players.

Operate within the rules and spirit of your sport.

Any physical contact with players should be appropriate to the situation and necessary for the player’s skill development.

Refrain from any intimate relationship or affair with your player.

Avoid unaccompanied and unobserved activities with any team member.

Any form of personal, verbal or physical abuse towards your players is unacceptable.

Refrain from any form of sexual harassment towards your players.

Provide a safe environment for training and competition including the facilities.

Show concern and caution towards sick and injured players.

Be a positive role model for netball and players.
