Rowing
Rowing at
The Christchurch Girls’ High School | Te Kura o Hine Waiora rowing programme is athlete focused, coach directed and parent supported. Rowing is not an easy sport. It requires commitment both in time and effort.
Commitment from the coaches to set and implement the training programme.
Commitment from the rowers to be at every training session and to work their best at every training session.
Commitment by the parents to ensure that their daughters get to training and are kept in good health and to provide support at regattas as house parents.
Costs cover coaching, accommodation, transport, food at regattas and camps, equipment and entry fees. The rowing season runs from term 4 - term 1 the following year.
A Learn to Row programme is offered in term 3, prior to the rowing season beginning after winter. Students can then decide if rowing is the sport for them, prior to the actual season commencement in term 4.
