BEFORE Event Day:

  • Pick up a Swim-a-thon Event Pack from the Centralines Sports Complex or download from this website
    ​​​​​​​
  • Approach family, friends, neighbours work mates, club mates etc to sponsor you either per length that you swim, or pledge a donation

Make sure they fill in all their details on your Sponsorship Form.

ON Event Day: 

Registrations desks open at 9.00am 
Race Briefing 9.45am  
Swimming starts at 10.00am
 

**Bring your completed Registration & Sponsorship Forms with you on event day** 

  • At the completion of your swim, you will receive a certificate confirming the official number of lengths you completed. 

  • There will be prizes for the ‘Most Lengths Swum’ and the ‘Most Money Raised’ in each section. 

If you happen to have collected in all your sponsorship money this can be handed in on the day

AFTER Event Day: 

  • Return to your sponsors with your Sponsorship Form to collect their pledged sponsorship. 

  • Hand in your sponsorship money to the Centralines Sports Complex Reception. 

All money needs to be handed in by
FRIDAY 26th MARCH at the latest

  • ALL DONE! you have completed the Swim 4 Lives Swim-a-thon!!

Cheering and supporting swimmers is highly encouraged, this is meant to be a FUN event. 
So don't be afraid to get dressed-up and break out your pom-poms!!

SIGN-IN between 9.00am-9.45am 

EVENT BRIEFING at 9.45am (All participants MUST attend)

SWIMMING starts at 10.00am

Remember to bring your REGISTRATION & SPONSORSHIP forms with you on race day

• All participants must hand in their sponsorship forms when they ‘Sign-In’, these will be handed back at the completion of their swim for verification of the number of lengths completed. 

• LANE Swimmers will be started in sections promptly from 10.00am onwards. 

•This is a fun event with the aim of raising funds to assist ALL CHB Primary Schools to participate in the deep water swim sessions. Please enter into the spirit of the occasion and respect all other participants. 

 ALL swimmers must wear appropriate swim wear - NO jean shorts or T-shirts to be worn. 

• Lane swimmers CAN complete the distance either swimming or dog paddling, or using kick boards which will be available for use. 

• Lifeguards and Marshals will be on hand to assist swimmers and normal pool rules and guidelines are to be obeyed. . Failure to do so will result in being removed from the swimming pool. 

• PARTICIPANTS ONLY are allowed in the marshalling area inside the swimming pool. 

• All normal swimming pool RULES apply - ie NO BOMBING 

Food & Refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the morning 

IMPORTANT POOL INFORMATION 

Main Pool Depth: 1.05metres shallow end - 2.15metres deep end

                                 Lane 6 (outside lane) = Paddle Section,
                              Lanes 1,2,3,4 & 5 = SWIM & TEAM Sections

Learners Pool Depth: 0.75metres ladder end - 0.9metres window end (Parent supervision is required) 

FAQ's

What if I am unsure what my swimming capability is and I want to take part in the lane swimming?
To take part in the LANE swimming you MUST be capable of swimming 25m (aided or unaided) Children must have parental permission to enter. If you have any medical concerns regarding your ability to take part in this initiative safely, please check with your family doctor

Do I have to have 5 people in my TEAM?
You can have any number of team members up to a MAXIMUM of 5 and this can be made up of friends, family, workmates. 

What do I do with my sponsorship money if I have it all collected before event day?(eg. pledges)
Once you have your full total, return it to the AW Parsons Indoor Pool Reception for it to be recorded.

What will happen to all the money raised?
The proceeds from the event will be held in trust by the CHB Swim 4 Lives group for the stated purpose of assisting schools to participate in deep water swim sessions by subsidising travel costs to and from the sessions and supporting at risk children to access additional support to raise their swimming ability.
