Primary Schools (Apart from Tauwhare) are no longer entering teams into the Local CJRS Rugby Module.  Players now need to register with either Leamington Rugby CLub or Hautapu Sports.

Grades are also aged based not by year level.  Age grades are below.

Age as of 31st December 2022

U7 Ripper - Under 7 Year Olds
Open to players who were 6 Years old or younger on 31st December 2022.

This grade is Rippa rugby. It is advised to have 12 players per team, this is not compulsory however. Up to 10 players per team on the field is advised.

U8 - Under 8 Year Olds - First Year Tackle
Open to players who were 7 years old on 31st December 2022. First Year tacklers only  

6 Year olds on 31st December 2022 are elegable to play, 5 year old's however need to go through the E.C.C process. Please contact the club if this is the case

U9 - Under 9 Year Olds
Open to players who were 8 years old on 31st December 2022.  No year 6’s to play in this grade.

7 Year olds on 31st December 2022 are elegable to play, 6 year old's however need to go through the E.C.C process. Please contact the club if this is the case

U11 Local - Under 11 Year Olds
Open to players who were 10 years old on 31st December 2022.

9 Year olds on 31st December 2022 are elegable to play, 8 year old's however need to go through the E.C.C process. Please contact the club if this is the case

This is a primary school competition only.

This grade is played on a reduced field size or half size field and allows for up to 10 players on the field.

All teams in any grade must have the same number of players on the field and we encourage players to
play for the opposition team to even up the numbers.

The objective is to have children playing rugby and enjoying the game.

All ages are from the 31/12/2022 and both girls and boys can play in any grade.

Any player can play up 1 grade with the parents and coaches consent.

Dispensations for players will be considered on request via e-mail and will be
dealt with by the CJRS Grading and Dispensation Committee.

Two administrators, from each team must have registered online and then attend a Small Blacks course held at various venues and dates before the season commences.
