NELSON COLLEGE RUGBY NEWS

21st June 2021

It was another wet and cold weekend of Rugby but our teams did very well taking 7 wins and a draw from 8 games. Well done to our players and coaches on some great results.

This Wednesday our 2nd XV is playing the Kahurangi Colts team at Trafalgar Park (please note the venue may change). This is the third and final game between the two teams and with the 2nd XV winning the first two games 17-10 & 17-12, this will no doubt be another close and willing game. Please come along and support the teams, 6.30pm kick off!

Next week sees the annual Shirley Boys' High School exchange in Christchurch. We have the 1st XV playing at 12pm and the U14A team playing at 10.30am at Shirley Boys'. This will be a great opportunity for our U14 players to challenge themselves against players from another region which the boys are looking forward to.

The 1st XV traveled to Christchurch to play Selwyn Combined Schools and won 53-3. They scored nine tries in total. Netani Baleisomosomo 2, Ollie Inch, Cooper Grant, Reegan Lawton, Tuterangi Stone-Williams, Jacob Neha-Manihera, Matt Brice & Timoci Sauira. Reegan Lawton and Cooper Grant made 2 conversions each. The next game is against Shirley Boys' High School 1st XV at Shirley Boys' High School on Tuesday 29th at 12.00pm. This game is part of the school's annual sports exchange. All the best boys!

Kind Regards
