Kia ora Koutou, We’re excited to share some fantastic news from across our netball community. Congratulations to Anna Galvin on her election to the Netball New Zealand Board, a wonderful achievement and a testament to her leadership and commitment to netball. We also extend our warm congratulations to the Mainland Netball New Zealand Service Award recipients, announced at the recent AGM. Your dedication and service continue to make a lasting difference to netball in our region. You can read more about their appointments below. A big thank you to all centres and clubs for getting your Incorporated Society re‑registration completed before the deadline. Your diligence and cooperation have made this process smooth and stress‑free, we really appreciate the effort behind the scenes. As preseason training and tournaments gather momentum, there’s a real buzz building across the courts. We also encourage everyone to get in behind our VIP Frames & Trusses Tactix, as they kick off their home campaign this weekend. Janice (Jan) Cochrane – Mid CanterburyJanice Cochrane has made a significant and sustained contribution to netball in Mid Canterbury through her commitment to service, leadership, and community development. Over many years, Jan has played an important role in supporting and strengthening the game at a local and regional level, consistently giving her time and expertise to ensure netball continues to thrive. Her contribution reflects the values of dedication, reliability, and service that sit at the heart of the Netball New Zealand Service Award. Mainland Netball warmly congratulates Jan on this deserved recognition. We are deeply proud of her contribution and the positive influence she has had across Mid Canterbury and the wider Mainland netball community.  | Claire Lewis – Selwyn Netball CentreClaire Lewis gave more than forty years of devoted service to the game she loved. Through her work in administration, officiating, mentoring, and governance, from Club and Centre level through to regional and national roles. Claire touched countless lives with her deep expertise, thoughtful netball insight, and quiet, steady leadership. Known for her humility, warmth, and tireless dedication, she also served with distinction as a National Bench Official at many major tournaments. Claire’s impact on netball, and on the people within it, was truly special, and her legacy will continue to be felt for many years to come, especially by her whānau. From all of us at Mainland Netball, we honour and remember Claire with heartfelt gratitude. We are immensely proud of her lifetime of service and the love, passion, and care she leaves behind within our netball whānau.  |

TIPU SERIES 2026 - Learning Together NNZ is offering 4 online interactive hui for coach and umpire coach developers. The topics provide a range of learning and development opportunities that will build understanding and capability, relevant to community and performance netball. The following hui are the 4 online workshops still to be delivered. TIPU Series Workshop 1: Strengthening Your Hauora 🌿A reflective workshop guided by Te Whare Tapa Whā DATE: Tuesday 21 April 7 - 8.30 pm . Facilitated by Kylee Long, certified Health & Wellness Coach and founder of Kylee Long Coaching. Kylee brings a warm, practical approach to wellbeing and is deeply connected to netball as a coach, umpire, and coach developer. TIPU Series Workshop 2: Change Management - Making Change Work for You Change is everywhere - but how do we lead it well? DATE: Tuesday 5 May 7 - 8.30 pm. Facilitated by Sue Harris, an experienced change and organisational development professional and Senior Organisational Development Advisor at Ravensdown. Sue brings extensive, real-world experience leading and supporting major change initiatives across health, agriculture, and technology, with a strong focus on people-centred change.
