SCHOOL SPORT VACANCIES
Are you a sports enthusiast passionate about empowering students through physical activity? Have you enjoyed coaching or managing young people in sport and are ready to move into administration? Do you have experience with how sporting events and activities are organised?
If you excel in fast-paced environments and possess top-tier organisational skills, we invite you to join the Sports Department at Hutt Valley High School.
Our team currently has three full-time and one part-time staff member. It is a high-functioning, energetic, and collaborative group well supported by senior leadership.
At Hutt Valley High School, our work is grounded in our shared values: we are Welcoming (He kura Rāhiri), creating a space where every student belongs; we are Kind (He kura Ngākaunui), fostering positive, respectful relationships; and we Persevere (He kura Manawaroa) to help every student Achieve (He kura Eke Taumata) their full potential in academic, cultural, and sporting excellence.
As our new Sports Coordinator, you will play a central role in this mission to strengthen our sporting identity and ensure every participant enjoys a rewarding experience. You will manage specific sporting codes and spearhead school-wide events. A knowledge of—or interest in—organising rugby, touch, and basketball would be beneficial but is not essential (as the outgoing coordinator held these portfolios).
What we are looking for in a candidate:
A positive attitude, a collaborative nature, and a good sense of humor.
Excellent communication, organisation, project management, and administration skills.
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced school environment.
Working Hours:
This is a full-time position. We are open to discussing flexible arrangements, whether that be term-time only or working throughout the year (52 weeks).
To Apply:
Applications should be addressed to the Principal, Denise Johnson, and must include a current CV and cover letter. Please submit your application materials via email to office@hvhs.school.nz
Applications must be received by Friday, 24 July at 4.00 pm.
