Sport & Active Recreation Coordinator

The Sport & Active Recreation Coordinator is a newly redesigned role to enhance extra-curricular participation at Marsden.  As we embark on the next phase of our strategy, we are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to help shape our initiatives to support the delivery of our plan Every Body Active.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a range of sports programmes and school portfolios to provide equal opportunities to all students
• Develop a wide range of active recreation initiatives to enhance participation
• Assist in all aspects of sports related school activities
• Maintain all working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including coaches, managers, volunteers, parents and whanau.
• Support the Director of Sport & Active Recreation in all aspects of the Sports Office.

The preferred candidate will:

• Have a passion for working with young children, primarily aged 5-12
• Be interested in sports and active recreation
• Show initiative and high resilience
• Have great communication and interpersonal skills
• Be extremely organised with proven ability to triage and manage their workloads
• Uphold the Marsden values: Excellence (Hiringa), Resilience (Manahau), Creativity (Auahatanga) and Service (Oha).
