Novice swimmers are taught by Collegiates qualified and very experienced coaches from the age of 5 years, however if you or your child are older than this, please don't be put off, we can happily accommodate learners of all ages and developmental abilities. The coach to swimmer ratio at Collegiate is low, maximising the individual contact swimmers get.

Lessons usually begin in the excellent Learners pool at "Splash Palace" and progress to the Main pool when a swimmer is competently able to swim 50 metres.
In the Main pool, emphasis is on correcting stroke technique, breathing comfortably and swimming efficiently for longer distances.

Distance nights are held twice a season when swimmers are given the opportunity to officially progress through increasingly longer challenges, for which they are certified at the end of season prizegiving in April/May of each year.
