History

In the beginning

The club was founded by Vince Tarowa 1992.  Co- founding members were Popsy Matutu, Matutu Matutu, Lesley O’Connor and Sean Phillips.

Important dates

1996:  The club is officially became an Incorporated Society as Cook Islands Outriggers Association 

2004: Represented the Cook Islands heritage at the Hilo Va'a World Sprint 

2006: Represented Cook Islands heritage at the NZ Va'a World Sprint

Since then, many of the Cook Islands Outrigger teams and individual paddlers have had major success on a national and international forum.
