ABOUT US
Cooks Islands Tag Football is based in New Zealand and a non-profit sporting Organisation promoting the game of Tag Football.
Since its establishment back in 2014, Cook Islands Tag has grown over the years.
Tag is played socially at a club level and has an established representative pathway where you can be selected to play at national and international level.
We have over 6,000 Facebook followers and officiate weekly tag modules, which is known to many as ‘Kuki Tag Module’. We cater from the age of 5yrs - 40+ years old.
Each year we enter over 30 Junior teams (under 7’s - under 16’s) in the NZTFI Junior Oceania Indigenous Invitational Cup tournament. We have over 500 young players representing the Cook Islands at this prestigious event.
Every two years we have Senior teams (under 18 – 50+) compete in the NZTFI Senior Oceania tournament.
Players are selected from NZTFI affiliated modules. New Zealand pacific nations are affiliated under New Zealand Tag Football (NZTFI) and International Tag Federation (ITF) as a Tier Two Heritage nation.
Every three years, in conjunction with the Cook Islands Oztag Committee, based in Australia. We join forces and form teams to represent the Cook Islands at the Tag World Cup, organised by ITF. Players are selected from New Zealand, Australia & the Cook Islands.
One of the greatest advantages for Cook Islands Tag Football (NZ) is the calibre of Volunteers who make our organisation the success it is today. From Committee members, Coaches, Managers and Management staff. Who are all looking after our Teams with their unwavering efforts, time and expertise.
