Growing People, Building Communities, Advancing Softball

Canterbury Softball Association is one of New Zealand's leading regional softball organisations, serving a diverse and growing community of players, coaches, officials, volunteers, clubs, schools, and supporters throughout Canterbury.

For more than 85 years, we have been committed to developing softball at every level—from first-time participants and community competitions through to representative pathways and high-performance programmes. Through strong governance, strategic leadership, and meaningful partnerships, we create opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to participate, compete, and thrive.

Our role extends beyond the diamond. We are dedicated to fostering healthy, connected communities, developing future leaders, and creating inclusive environments where everyone feels welcome and valued. By working collaboratively with clubs, schools, local authorities, funding partners, and Softball New Zealand, we deliver programmes and initiatives that generate lasting social, health, and community outcomes.

As custodians of softball in Canterbury, we are focused on sustainable growth, operational excellence, and ensuring our sport remains accessible, relevant, and impactful for future generations. Continued investment in facilities, participation programmes, workforce development, and representative pathways enables us to strengthen the game while delivering measurable benefits to our wider community.

We welcome partnerships with organisations that share our commitment to participation, wellbeing, community development, and sporting excellence. Together, we can create meaningful opportunities, strengthen communities, and inspire the next generation of Canterbury softballers.
