The inorganianl, inorgruel, first run of the Ditch Hash House Harriers was aboard the Arahura sailing from Wellington to Picton at 12 noon on the 04 June 1990.

The "Ditch" Hash House Harriers is so named due to the euphemistic term applied to the waters of the Cook Strait that divide the North and South Islands of New Zealand.
The Ditch also helps keep the mongrels from the more cultured class (I'll leave it up to the reader to decide which side is which).

The "return" run was on same ship sailing from Picton at 2:25 PM. Marlbourough Hash Harriers joined this trip and then returned that evening.
The start of the "2/3 Ditch Runs".
