We aim to provide a safe, enjoyable environment for members, guests and the public

  1. Members under 14 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18 years of age or over)

  2. Jumping is only permitted under the supervision of a responsible adult (18 years of age or over)

  3. Even if you are over 14 years of age It’s always better to ride and handle your horse when another responsible person is around. Horses are unpredictable and if an accident happens another person can assist you and, if necessary, call for help

  4. Helmets that meet the NZPCA approved standard (Yellow tagged) are to be worn at all times when mounted, These may be tagged on rally days if requested in advance, please contact [email protected] or message our facebook page 

  5. Back/body protectors are compulsory when jumping solid fences (any fence that cannot be knocked down). From 2020 NZPCA will require back protectors to meet BETA EN13158 2009 Level 3 or ASTM F1937 standards

  6. When riding wear smooth-soled footwear with heels to prevent your foot getting caught or sliding through the stirrup, preferably proper riding boots. Wear sturdy, closed-in footwear when working around horses

  7. Driveway gate onto Port Hills Road is to be closed at all times. This is padlocked overnight, please contact the club secretary if you require access outside these times 

  8. Vehicles must stay with 15 km/hr limit at all times.

  9. Drivers be aware of horses and people at all times, passengers please don’t ride on the outside of vehicles, floats and trailers 

  10. Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead, tied up or secure in a vehicle at all times and must not cause a nuisance to horses, other members, guests or the public

  11. Horses must be tied up using twine, not directly to posts, rails or other obstacles and always tie with a quick-release knot

  12. manure must be removed from the arenas, yards and stable areas and placed in bins provided or bagged up and placed in the box at the front gate.

  13. Lunging must be done in an arena, considering others who are using the space, and a helmet must be worn while lunging.

  14. Always ride and handle your horse responsibly, be courteous and mindful of others when sharing the arena and stable areas, look after each other and have fun!
