This is Feilding Saturday Morning Rugby

In 2019, we had approx 400+ kids, 35 teams, 40+ sponsors, 100+ coaches, managers, referees, committee members and our often uncognised "what are you up to?" scorers and reluctant Mighty Midgets referees. Things can get a little hectic around Feilding Saturday Morning Rugby, but, with everyone pitching in, we always get there.

Our home ground is Victoria Park.  We are very lucky that Victoria Park is very rarely closed so it is uncommon for games to be cancelled.

We don't have club rooms and therefore rely on the generosity of the Anglican Parish of Oroua Church, Feilding Intermediate School, Feilding High School and many other community organisatons to act as our 'temporary clubrooms' for the day when needed; such is our relationship with the community.

We also have a very special links with the two Feilding 'senior clubs', Feilding Rugby Football Club (Yellows) and Feilding Old Boys Oroua (Stags) as most of our players will go on to play for one of them, many already having stong ties to them through family. We recognise our shared history with both club colours being represented on our travelling grade and representative jerseys.

In 2019 we had the following teams

  • U6' Rippa teams - 10 teams [mighty midgets]
  • U7's Rippa teams - 6 teams [mighty midgets]
  • U8's Tackle teams  - 8 teams [midgets]
  • U9's teams - 4 teams [midgets]
  • U10's teams - 3 teams [travelling grade]
  • U11's teams - 2 teams [travelling grade]
  • U12's/U13's - 2 teams [travelling grade]

We are very fortunate to be able to run our own stand-alone U6's - U9's [Mighty Midgets and Midgets grades] competition.  Because of this, these grades do not travel, instead they play all their games at Victoria Park.

Our season follows the Manawatu Rugby Union season and is pretty set on a fourteen (14) week program. The start of the season consists of a club fun day on the Sunday before the first duck shooting Saturday. The season finishes in early September when we have our end of year fun day and prizegiving.
