BACKGROUND

From 5 October 2023 existing societies will need to reregister under the 2022 Act if they want to remain as an incorporated society. 

As Fusion Netball Club Inc. is an existing society, we can apply to reregister under the 2022 Act any time from 5 October 2023 to 5 April 2026. Until the society reregisters it must operate under and comply with the 1908 Act.

There are a few things we need to do before we reregister. Under the 2022 Act, the society will need to —

• provide a constitution that’s compliant with the 2022 Act.
• include appropriate dispute resolution procedures in its constitution.
• have a committee that’s responsible for managing the operation and affairs of the society.
• have at least 10 members.
• provide at least one person’s contact details (these details will be used by the Registrar to contact the society).

A proposed new consitution for Fusion Netball Club Inc. has been drafted using the Constitution Builder Tool on the NZ Companies Office website to ensure we comply with the new Act.

An SGM has been scheduled for Thursday 14th March 2024 at 6pm, for the purpose of adopting the new constitution, notice of the date will be communicated to Members via newsletter.

An amendment to the Terms of our registration will also be communicated advising registrants that by completing a registration they are consenting to become a Member of Fusion Netball Club Inc.
