Our Club

We are a strong club with a big heart that is greatly supported by our volunteers, coaches, officials, committee and our athletes.

The Geraldine Amateur Athletic Club is affiliated to Athletics Canterbury and Athletics New Zealand.

The track and field season runs from October to March.  This season we will begin on 11th October 2023 to 12th December 2023, restarting on 1st February 2024 to 20th March 2024.

All Club registered children are able to compete in club competitions, Inter Club and South Island/North Island Colgate Games see events page.

CLUB NIGHTS

On Club nights are a combination of disciplines that are rotated age groups. There will be a mix of club nights, training nights and competition nights. 7, 8 and 9 yr old children compete in the field events of Long Jump, Shot Put and Discus, and in the track events of 60m, 100m, and 200m. 10 to Masters add the High Jump, 400m, 800m and 1500m to their programme.  Where applicable Javelin (this is for 13 year olds to Masters and dependant on a coaching team member being available).

Athletes 9 & under MUST have a parent or caregiver present at club nights for safety reasons. This is a parent run club & so it is also expected that parents are able to help out regularly throughout the season on club nights.
