Winter race schedule now out (members should have received email). We will be racing monthly on Saturdays and have a monthly longer Sunday ride roughly 2 weeks in-between.

First Race: - Saturday 30th May 2026 - Gravel Race (slight change of plan from race in spreadsheet - 2 laps and starting and finishing at start of gravel)

Sign on: 2.40pm - 649 Riverside Rd - at start of gravel, top of hill past Cave rd (here)

Race briefing: 2.45pm - all riders must attend

Race start: 3 pm

Course: Down Riverside Rd to gate and back, x2

Distance: 22km - Undulating Gravel

Remember to also join us for our Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning club rides. All riders are welcome, club members, new riders and visitors.

Saturday afternoon (when not racing)

Club ride leaving Nelson Road cemetery 1.30pm

Duration: 2 - 2.5 hours

Course: to be decided on the day

Easy ride out - faster pace home

All riders welcome (club members and new riders)

Course: usually up the coast, but this can change. New riders welcome.

Thanks to all who participated in our 2026 summer race series. Our Tuesday night races are on hiatus until the longer days return but we are starting our winter series of rides and races now - we will be trying some new (or perhaps forgotten) routes including some gravel! Please join our WhatsApp group (contact me at 021-063-8823) to be kept abreast of events, last minute updates, weather-cancellations and spontaneous ride requests.

-Saturdays leaving the Nelson Road cemetery at 1.30pm, for a 2-to-2.5-hour ride. We will ride as a group on the way out, and return faster, which may mean the group will break up into a faster and slower one. For those who are interested there may be a beer at The Tav (pub across the road from Gisborne Hospital) at around 4 pm - for riders and non-riders alike - (but confirm on WhatsApp if you're unable to join the ride).

-Sundays leaving the My Ride bike shop (corner Roebuck Road and Gladstone Road) at 8am for a two hour or so ride.  Most days we will go up the East Coast to Glenroy Road. We often stop for coffee at Raglan Roast around 10.15.

- Wednesday evening gravel rides on Wednesday evenings starting at 5.30 pm from Willy’s Dairy at Ormond Road. These are not organised by the Club, but all riders are welcome - route is usually up some combination of Riverside, Goodwins, Cave, and Matokitoki Roads. There are also gravel rides during the weekend that Club members often join.  Barry McLoughlin is the prime contact for these (0276627881).

- We are considering a few special rides/races incl. gravel - WhatsApp is best to be kept informed of these. Feel free to offer suggestions and route ideas..
