Our Rallys are generally on the second Sunday of every month, one in the morning  & one in the afternoon.

Halswell Pony Club is a branch of the Christchurch Pony Club, and operates under the constitution of The New Zealand Pony Club Association. To become a member you will need to apply  to the Committee by completing a membership form and pay the annual membership fee Via 'Nominate' Webpage.

*Please note when your applying for membership this needs to be done on a computer not your phone.  Also the Adult membership needs to be put in the system first followed by the riders details, as per NZPCA rules every rider under 18years needs to have an accompanying adult as a member.




Halswell Pony Club Committee meetings take place the 3rd Monday from the beginning of each month and all members are welcome to come along, the location of these meetings can change so keep an eye out for the communication.  A lot of planning for the year and months ahead happen in these meetings and we would love your input so please feel free to come along.


Our Club has 2 major fundraisers each year starting with our Show Jumping day being held this Saturday 9th April and our One Day Event (ODE) held later in the year July 3rd.

Please put these dates in your diary as all our members and any additional help offered is much appreciated (but required by members). We have a blast putting these days together for riders, it’s actually a lot of fun and very rewarding.


Financial members are welcome to ride on our grounds any time, we only have a period in November when the A&P Show needs all the grounds to prepare and operate the show, so jumps are put away and we don’t use the facilities over this period.

I would like to explain that our grounds and facilities are shared between several users at the Canterbury Park but HPC members have all the right to ride and use the grounds and we welcome you to do so.  There is a wash down bay and lots of hacking and xc jumping out in the big paddock.  Please make sure if your jumping someone is with you and back protectors must always be worn.

All  usual NZPCA rules apply and if your unsure please have a chat to someone about this, there is no such thing as a silly question.


We have several pony club teams events lined up over the year so please keep an eye out for communication from Emma and if you would like to know more please sing out.  There is rules around these teams events and if you want to participate we want to make sure you have everything in place to do so.
