GOLF CROQUET
We play mainly the new interactive and shorter game of 'Golf Croquet' but AC games are also held by arrangement.

MEMBERSHIP
We have 68 members and always welcome new players of any age or ability.

EQUIPMENT
We have mallets and all equipment for newcomers to start playing. Eventually players buy their own mallets and we can recommend suppliers.

HOW TO JOIN
Ringing / emailing the Secretary beforehand helps us look out for you. New members have five complimentary sessions before deciding whether to join.

SUBSCRIPTIONS
Subscriptions are currently $200 for new players in their first year of playing croquet, $280 for subsequent years and there is a lawn fee of $2 per session. Student subscriptions are $50. Your sub is valid from September - September each year and our subs were not raised in 26/27. 

Visitors within CWKC pay $3 green fees per session. Playing visitors from further afield pay $5.

CLUB TIMES
In the summer (Sept to April) we play on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings 9.30am to 12.30pm.
In the winter (May-August) we play from 12.30pm-3.30pm. If the lawns are closed due to weather, members will receive an email by 8am in summer and by 9am in winter. 

CLOTHING
Comfortable clothing with flat soled or sports shoes. Our Club polo is worn on club days (optional) and for Tournaments. We wear dark, white or light coloured shorts, skirts or slacks. The club polo was updated in 2026 and can be ordered in lots of 10 through the Secretary.

COACHING
Coaching occurs weekly and our members will always help newcomers. Expect to get out on the lawn from day 1. 

THE CLUB

Hamilton East Croquet Club began in 1953 and has been on the present site for 50 years. 2023 was our 70th year and there are photos to view under the Gallery tab. We are affiliated to Croquet Waikato King Country, along with seven other clubs, and with Croquet New Zealand.
