Sport at HCS

Sport is an important part of school life at HCS. This page provides key dates, registration information, and details about our sports teams, programmes and events.

Registrations

To help our teams start each season well, all summer and winter sports have set registration periods. These will be advertised on:

  • The school newsletter

Please check these platforms regularly to ensure you receive all sports information.

Service in Sport

Sport provides many opportunities for HCS students to serve, lead, and show Christ-like character. Senior students are encouraged to take leadership roles in in-house sports and to coach junior teams.

When HCS students of all ages display the school values on and off the field, they become a witness to teammates, parents, officials and the wider sporting community.

Parent Support

Our sports programme supports 00+ students across over 100 teams each year. This would not be possible without the support of our school community.

Most teams are parent-coached and parent-managed. We provide training and support for parent and student coaches.If you are able to help, please indicate this on your child’s registration form.

Police Vetting

Under the Vulnerable Children’s Act, all volunteers must complete a Police Vetting check every three years.You can download the form here and return the completd form, along with two forms of ID, to the HCS Office for processing.

Sports Uniforms

All HCS sports teams require a uniform.

HCS PE Kit is worn by:

  • All Junior (Years 1–8) teams

  • All Secondary (Years 9–13) teams except those listed below.

HCS supplies uniforms for:

  • Senior Secondary Netball teams

  • Senior A Basketball, Football and Hockey teams


If a uniform is lost or damaged, the full replacement cost will be charged.

Where to Buy

The HCS PE kit and navy HCS sports socks (worn for Futsal, Football, Touch Rugby, Volleyball, and Hockey) are available from The Brand Makers (formerly DG Uniforms).

Training Uniform

Players must wear HCS PE kit, training gear, or appropriate sports clothing to every training. They must bring suitable footwear and any required equipment.

Students who forget their gear will need to sit out of practice and assist the coach where appropriate.

Game Day Uniform

All players must wear the correct HCS sports uniform (shirt and shorts, or dress, and socks) when representing the school.

Sports Hoodies

HCS Sports Hoodies are an optional uniform item and can be purchased through The Brand Makers.

Fees

Sports fees must be paid by the due date on the invoice.
