HBN 'Learn To Play' programme is designed to provide Year 7 players the opportunity to give a different Netball format a go and familiarise themselves with each position before the season begins.  This programme is a good way to ease players and coaches into the 7v7 game.  The programme aims to further improve participants with quality experiences that will help players develop and enjoy netball.

Programme dates

Napier:Wednesday 21st February. Wednesday 28th February, Wednesday 6th March, Wednesday 13th March.

Hastings:​​​​​​​ Monday 19th February, Monday 26th February, Monday 4th March, Monday 11th March.

CHB:Monday 19th February, Monday 26th February, Monday 4th March, Monday 11th March.

Session times:4pm - 5pm

Players will receive:

• Coaching over a period of 4 weeks, 4 x 1 hour sessions.
• Week 4 – Games week. Players will be able to put their skills to the test in game like situations.
• 1 session per week led by sports professionals and coaches.
• Hawke’s Bay Netball training singlet.
• Sports specific education – Netball Smart warm up & warm down protocols, skills, drills and fitness specifics.
• Short games at the end of each session.
