CLASSES:
Non-Syllabus in classical and contemporary.
Classical Pointe/Repertoire for Intermediate/Advanced levels.
Musical Theatre for Grade 4/5
Pointe Strengthening for  Intermediate Foundation.
Stretching Classes for Intermediate and Advanced


NOTE: Students may select only one or two classes to attend, but students auditioning for the Winter School scholarships must attend all classes.


OBSERVERS:    Teachers and Parents are welcome to observe classes on Sunday 28 April

SCHOLARSHIPS:           
Three classical scholarships are offered to the New Zealand School of Dance's Winter Seminar in Wellington, 8th - 12th July 2024. There will be one scholarship for each level of class for Intermediate Foundation[Pre-elementary], Intermediate and Advanced.

One Contemporary Scholarship to the NZSD Winter Seminar in July is available. This is for a student at Advanced Level. This student will be required to attend Advanced Classical at NZSD Winter Seminar as this is their criteria.

Only Hawkes Bay students (currently being taught by a Hawke's Bay teacher)  are eligible for a scholarship and all scholarship candidates must take all classes.  Students entering the scholarship must be available to attend the NZSD Winter School, funds are allocated only for this.

Fees for the Winter Seminar set course (excluding RAD classes) will be paid as well as an allowance of $600 for accommodation and $150 of travel.

The Tutor of the class will be the judge of the scholarships which are funded and awarded by Hawke’s Bay Ballet and Dance.

Hawke’s Bay Ballet and Dance will award Application and Achievement certificates in all classes based on the tutors recommendations.

Uniform
Please be dressed ready for class. Bring a gear bag to put all your belongings in.

Classical - all students are required to present themselves as at examination standard
ie:  all hair to be neatly and firmly secured in a bun, no undergarments visible.
(you will be asked to address any lack of uniform standard before entering the class.)
Girls: Leotards may be coloured but tights and shoes to be regulation uniform.
Boys: Regulation singlet tights and footwear.


Contemporary:  appropriate stretch pants  / shorts -you may like to wear ankle socks but floor may not be suitable for this.

Musical Theatre: appropriate stretch pants  / shorts​​​​​​​

Pilates /Stretching:  please bring a towel / pilates mat /sleeping mat to use  for floor work.

Breaks

The timetable allows a minimum of 15 minutes between each class.  Please remember to bring shoes suitable for street wear.

Food & Water
Please bring your own named water bottle and sufficient snack food/lunch to cover your needs while at the seminar.


Classes are limited. Please enrol early to avoid disappointment.
Please arrive at least a quarter of an hour before your first class starts.
All entries accepted unless notified.
Receipts provided on request.
