Badminton

Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although considered a winter sport, badminton can be played indoor all year round. With the continued growth of Asian population in New Zealand, participation in badminton has also increased significantly. At high levels of play, the sport demands excellent fitness and players require aerobic stamina, agility, strength, speed, and precision. It is also a technical sport, requiring good motor coordination and the development of sophisticated racquet movements.

In 2022 we had a badminton club run by Mr. Hills, the courts would be setup in the main gym and students could just turn up and play badminton. This would be held at Tuesday lunchtime and Wednesday afterschool. It was open to anyone and there were racquets you could borrow when you wanted to play, so all you need was a change of clothes.
