Football is one of our growing sports at Howick College. Our football programme offers a professional and fun focus. With the help of our 1st XI Head coaches, we have a team of capable teachers and parents who volunteer their time and knowledge to help develop the skills and teamwork needed by our players to play the game.
The school has made a significant investment in recent years into football. This is displayed in the fantastic results of our boys and girls footballing program.
The boys premier team have seen an awesome rise with the last couple of years results. The have risen to the Auckland Senior A1 grade, compared to a few years ago being in the Auckland Senior A3 grade. They also continue to perform at the national level, where they gained the bronze medal at the winter tournament week tournament they participated in. The results are not only seen in the premier grade but also in the junior teams.
The girls premier team have seen a fantastic rise to the top. They now compete in Auckland's Premier girls football grade. They also had a great result at the 2022 Winter tournament week, where they placed 27th out of 102 teams. With a big 7-1 win in the last game of the tournament. These results are not only achieved by hard work put in by the players, but also a huge amount of dedication put in by the external parent coaches and management team!
