Welcome to HIBS Rugby
Rugby has long been part of the sporting fabric of HIBS and has been a significant feature of the school’s programme since HIBS opened in the 1990s. As one of the school’s major winter sports, rugby offers students the opportunity to represent the school with pride, develop their game, and be part of a strong team culture.
Over the years, HIBS has supported players who have gone on to distinguished pathways within New Zealand rugby.
Rugby at HIBS is led by Rugby Convenor Ms Jessica Anderton, supported by a dedicated team of coaches and managers from our school community. For the 2026 season, HIBS has four teams entered in the Wellington Secondary Schools competition:

TRAINING: Most teams train twice a week.
UNIFORM:
- Uniform is provided by HIBS and is available from Mrs Duffy in the uniform shop.
- Socks to be purchased.

CANCELLATIONS: Go to College Sport Wellington website on Saturday mornings from 7.30am and each half-hour thereafter. Or contact your team manager.
SEASON: Terms 2-3
REGISTRATIONS: Registrations, weigh-in's and trials are completed in Term 1 with the season kicking off on 2 May 2026.
