SEASON DATES FOR 2025/26

The Season taps off on Thursday the 30th of October with the last game pencilled before the Xmas Break on 18th December 2025.  Games restart after Xmas on the 22nd of January and semi finals are on Thursday 19th February with finals on Wednesday 25th February 2026 where all teams will play followed by presentation & awards.

GRADES:

Tamariki: School Years 0-3 development (register under Yr 0-3), Yr 3-6 (graded/division - experienced) , 7-8, 9-13

Pakeke: Open Mens, Open Womens, Open Mixed, 

Whanau: (a 'wide' mix of ages across generations)

Business: Social mixed teams targetting Westland business/social groups

FEES:

Juniors - $100.00     

Whanau - $100.00      

Business - $200.00      

Open - $200.00

NB. Any teams with any outstanding arrears will be asked to balance account.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

COMPULSORY REFEREE/COACHING EVENING –TBC as we are seeking people interested in taking a Level 1 Coaching Course in conjunction with Touch NZ guidelines.

Additional to this, dates will soon be getting released for people interested in reffing our game. We have high hopes we can see to get a Level 1 referee course also done in the area.  

POINTS:

YEAR 0-3 MIXED GRADES - NO POINTS TAKEN. Development skills & game
Please ensure you fill in your players ages as this is how we split the sections evenly to ensure similar ability games for the season.  If you have a younger competitive team and wish to play with the slightly older players please mark competitive on the Team Manager Registration form.

YEAR 4-6, 7-8, 9-13 MIXED TEAMS -  We endeavour to make every game enjoyable for all participants and will start with each team in their respective year levels as registered. In unique cases we may have some teams crossing and playing different year groups. This will be clarified how this works with team managers before games are played.

In certain situations players may be allowed or permitted to play up or down a grade based on ability.

Team points work on 5 point win 3 point draw and 1 point loss system with bonus points for staying within 3 touch downs/or scoring 7 touch downs +

eg. A draw of two teams locked at 7-7 would result in 4 points per team or Team A 10 vs Team B 8 meaning Team A take 6 points vs Team B taking 2 points.
