Tournaments

Hokowhitu Bridge Club hosts three tournaments each year:  Intermediate (5B) and Junior (3B) Pairs tournaments in the autumn, and a Daffodil Day Charity (3A) tournament in the spring. In 2024, our Intermediate and Junior tournaments will be held on Sunday 19 May, and our Daffodil Day tournament on Sunday 1 September. 

​​​​​​Our 2023 Intermediate/Junior tournaments was held on Saturday 29 April. Congratulations to the winning pair, Rohan Wewala (Hokowhitu) and Janine Fenelon (New Plymouth).  Second place went to Bev Colville and Sue Parker (both Palmerston North) and third place to Michael Hardman and Hans van Bunnik (both Palmerston North).  

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Our 2023 Daffodil Day tournament was held on Sunday 27 August 2023. The Daffodil Day trophy was won by Sandy McKirdy and Graham Stronach (both Wellington), with Alan Doddridge and Alister Stuck (both Hokowhitu) in second place, and Anita Thirtle and George MacLachlan (both Wanganui) in third place. The Club was able to make a $2200 donation to the Central Districts Cancer Society from the proceeds of the tournament.
