James Steyn is the current New Zealand Pole Vault Champion, an international coach, and a new Hobsonville local. He’s coached and competed all over the world and is still actively competing, currently chasing qualification for the 2026 Commonwealth Games. James brings experience, loads of enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for helping young athletes discover the fun and confidence that come with athletics
Nadja Kumerich is a hammer thrower and has had the privilege of representing New Zealand and competing overseas at the Oceania Championships as well as targeting the next Oceania Championships next year in May. In addition to competing, she is a coach specialising in all throwing events and is very passionate about creating an adaptive and inclusive environment for athletes with disabilities.
Rosie is one of new Zealand's fastest women, and has been lucky enough to travel all over the world for athletics. She's the NZ 200m record holder and has her sites set on the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Originally from Christchurch, Rosie moved to Auckland to train alongside some of NZ's top sprinters, and she's bringing that experience to our club. With several years of coaching experience behind her, Rosie will help deliver our Run Jump Throw and Get Set Go programmes, and we couldn't be more excited for our young athletes to learn from her.
