THE FUTURE
Looking forward the Huia Executive Committee realize that we will need to keep changing with the times to survive and excel as a leading sporting club in the Motueka area.
Our clubs long term objective is to relocate from our existing clubroons to Sports Park.
We see this as being a huge benefit to not only the Rugby Club itself but the community also.
For example; the Motueka High School pool will be upgraded and accomadate a public access through Sports Park Moteka. The upgrade will incorporate a fully enclosed pool with separate public changing facilities and our new club rooms could act as the Swimming Club Headquarters also. Negotiations with the High School for a combined clubrooms is underway.
Our clubrooms are already utilised by other community groups sugh as;
- IHC indoor bowls
- Line Dancing
- Dance Schools
- Book Fair
With our new facilities we would look to attract more community groups to maximise its potential.
Huia Goals & Key Focus for 2016
- To build a strong, professional, friendly and a caring club environment that will foster safety, fair play, team commitment, family involvement and celebrating success.
- To promote community participation in sport.
- To successfully relocate our club to Sports Park to become the essential community hub.
LONG TERM GOALS
- To build strong professional relationship with its sponsor
- To run our club in a professional and business like manner
- To increase community fitness and health –physically and socially
- To be seen as the leading sports club in Motueka with the support of the wider community
- To ensure the club is financially secure and successful
