INVERCARGILL NETBALL AWARDS

Each year Invercargill Netball Centre takes nominations for Service and Life Awards.

These awards are for people within our community that have an outstanding contribution to Netball for a number of years. Nominations open in August each year, and accepted nominees are presented with their award at out AGM in February. 

At the 2026 AGM for the Invercargill Netball Centre, Donna Cowie and Bridget Smith were honoured with Life Service Awards for their outstanding contribution to netball.

These two incredible women have dedicated many years to the sport, serving in a variety of roles including committees, executive boards, coaching, umpiring, representative netball, and as sports coordinators at James Hargest College.

Donna and Bridget truly embody the passion, commitment, and growth of a sport they deeply love. Their tireless dedication has made a lasting impact on the netball community, and they are both richly deserving of this honour.
