Another Demon milestone

Jonah Aoina ran out of the sheds in the weekend for his 50th appearance as a Premier Demon. Jonah was awarded his blazer from President Barry McCoy. Ryan Martin spoke of seeing Jonah in Samoa in 2012 and getting him over to Dunedin to play for Otago Boys' High School. Ryan recalled a tough first year in Premier rugby only two years ago when Jonah was straight out of school. Jonah has quickly become a force in Dunedin premier rugby and is currently the top try scorer in the competition which is outstanding being a prop.

Well done Jonah and we look forward to seeing your career in rugby flourish.

The Premier's  had a tough battle at home against a well drilled Green Island side. In tough conditions the boys came out victors, 27 to 17. A big week is needed this week in training to prepare for the semi against Southern. Congratulations to Christian Lio-Willie for his first game for the Demon Premiers.

It was great to see Jonah's partner, family and friends at the club to help Jonah celebrate.

The club was busy, which was great to see. We also had Philip and Ilene Harper for Cardiff who looked after Allan Crawford on his big OE some years back. A tie was presented to Philip and it was great to see them visit us.

The supporters of the day were Donald Muldrew and Trevor Davey
