Athletics Wellington Junior Interclub Meets

Athletics Wellington organises six Interclub track & field meets each season for children aged 7-15 (age as at 31 December in the year that the season commences).

The Interclubs provide a great opportunity for children to experience a wide range of athletics events including shot put, discus, long jump, high jump, track races from 60m up to 1500m distances, race walking, hurdles, steeplechase and relays.  Athletes remain with their age-grade groups during the meet, and move between events in rounds. Events offered for each grade are adjusted to suit the age of athletes, and not all events are offered at each meet.

A programme of events is published prior to each meeting so that athletes and parents know what is coming up. Children compete in their club uniform and gain points that count towards Interclub trophies that are awarded at the end of the season.

If you do want to attend you will need one of our club singlets - come and see us in the shed at club nights to pick these up.

All Athletes must hold a season entry ticket to take part in the Junior Interclub series. The cost is $20.00 for the full season of six meets, reducing to $14 for entry after Christmas (Athletics Wellington have only two Junior Interclub meets in the New Year).To purchase an athlete season entry ticket please go HERE

The cut-off for any new season entries will be 6:00pm on the Friday night 1 December.
